We’ve all been there - witnessing someone we love suffer through an overwhelming time and because of distance, or schedules, or kids, or work, or even just life, not being able, or not knowing how to show up for them in the way you know they so desperately need.
Flowers or ‘stuff’ (let’s be honest the standard options the internet offers up) just won’t cut it, and despite the time you’ve put into searching for something better, you’re left feeling like you’re just not doing enough.
Somewhere along the way, the simple act of showing up for the people we love went awry. Gifting has become commoditised; and the cost is our connection.
Well, we’ve had enough of this. And we’ve made it our mission to ensure that no one in our inner circle, or yours, ever finds themselves asking “I wish I knew how to show up” again.
So instead, we’re asking a different question…

We Are The Helpful is a curated gifting marketplace offering help, not just stuff, built on the real stories and lived experiences of what actually helped when life happened, told to us by you.
It’s gifting, reimagined. Because the world didn’t need another gifting site, it needed something better:
- Better than gifting industry dictated milestones (you won’t find us marketing to those) and ignoring the moments in life when they really need us to show up
- Better than marketing to the masses, when the ones that really matter are our inner circle
- Better than the obvious, impersonal, tick-box gifts that have become the norm
- Better than overwhelming, time consuming, impossible online searches trying to find something that will be impactful
- Better than selling you stuff, when what you really need to gift is support
- Better than telling you that 'it takes a village', but not giving you the directions to find it

The gifting industry is booming (the UK market alone is valued at £60 billion) yet our mental load, overwhelm, loneliness and isolation are at an all-time high.
Somewhere along the way we’ve lost sight of what really matters and what really helps during life’s big (and sometimes not so big) moments.
We’re here to change this.

Hi, I'm Kate
And I've built We are The Helpful for my inner circle, and yours.
It began when one of my closest friends was living on the other side of the country and suffering from total exhaustion and overwhelm. Like you, if I were living close, I would have been there to clean, look after the kids or cook so she could take some much needed time to herself. But I couldn't.
Hours were lost searching for something helpful to send - anything that would ease the load, make her feel seen, loved, and supported - all I saw were flowers or material 'things' and they just weren't going to cut it. Not this time.
Introducing We are The Helpful; a curated gifting destination that offers help, not just stuff so that our loved ones are never doing it alone.
